NCS was launched by the Prime Minister David Cameron in 2011 and is a once in a lifetime experience for 15-17 year olds. It runs in the spring, summer and autumn.We researched different organisations that offer similar things to NCS. It lasts for 3 weeks with a 30 hour social action project to do in your own time.

  • Scouts
  • PGL (Parents Get Lost)
  • Army Cadets
  • DofE
  • Kingswood

They all have the similar idea of getting teenagers out and about, instead of them staying indoors at home and not being social.

NCS are different because:

  • You work together in a team to help build your life skills and social life.
  • Make an impact on your community.
  • Make new friends.
  • Receive a certificate signed by the Prime Minister.
  • Can sign up easily online.
  • Keep updated through social media; Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat.
  • Great on a CV.
