Own Card Game Idea

Kings, Queen and Assassins

The game we came up with in our group is called Kings, Queens and Assassins. It is for 3-4 players and played with one deck and lasts around 12 rounds.

The royal cards each have a certain amount of health points the King 20 points, the Queen 15 points and the Jack 10 points. At the start of the game you take out all of the royal cards and give each player the royals of a different suit. The aim of the game is to get your opponents royals all down to 0 health points. The person who still has health left at the end is the winner. You then put the rest of the cards in a face down pile. You then play from the left, you draw a card, if it is your suit then you have to remove that cards ranking from your royals cards, you have to kill the Jack first then the Queen and finally the King. If it is not your suit then you chose another player and they have to remove points from their royals. If you pick out a Joker you add 10 health back to one of your own royals, if you pick out a Ace then you give yourself 5 health. You can not revive a card once it is dead. If you have to remove more health points than you have, then take the left over points of off your next royal card. When a royal card gets to 0 health, you have to turn that card over, so players know that that royal is dead. If you get to the bottom of the pile, then reshuffle the pile.

  • This was my best game we played, this was because it was fun to hear peoples guesses especially the silly ones. It is quite fast paced and up beat. Funny when a drawing is really bad. Also to see how people take on a hard drawing.

Differences when playing a digital version: You do not have physical parts to the game, it is not as interactive and sometimes not as sociable to play. You cannot lose parts to it and it cant get broken.

Different Card Games

Go Fish

The first card game we played was Go fish is a card game for about 3-6 players, with one deck of cards. Each person gets 5 cards, the rest are put face down. If you have any pairs then you place them down in your own pile, you then go from left first with each person asking another player if they have a certain ranking card, if that person has that card then they must give it to the asking player, if not the person asking for a card has to pick up a card from the pile. When you have a pair you put them in your pile. The game ends when someone plays all of their cards or the stock pile runs out, you then add up all the pairs you got and the person with the most pairs is the winner.

Another variation is when the stock pile is not stacked and are on the table like a fish pond and when you get a pair you add them to the stock and shuffle the stock about and the last person to have any cards is the loser.

Some people play where you have to get 4 of that rank before you add the to the stock pile.

Old Maid

Two or more players, use one deck but remove one Queen. You then deal out the rest of the deck. The players that have any pairs put them in the discard pile. The dealer starts, they pick a random card from another players hand if that gives the person a pair they put the pair in the discard pile. You then carry on like this when someone runs out of cards they are safe. You carry on playing until only the Old Maid (Odd Queen) is left. The person who has it is the loser.

One variation is when you have to pick a card from the person to your left instead of choosing, some people also use a Joker as the Old Maid.

Crazy Eights

Two plus players, one deck. The objective of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all of their cards. Deal five cards to each player, seven cards if there are only two players. The remaining cards are put face down in a pile, the top card is placed face up in a second pile. This card is the first card played in the game. You start with the player to the left of the dealer and continue clockwise. You have to match the rank or suit of the top card on the discard pile. For example if the top card is the 9 of hearts the player can play either a 9, or a hearts card. If the player does not have a playable card in their hand they draw one from the deck and it becomes the next players turn. If you have an 8 it can be played on any card of any suit or value and the person who plays the eight gets to decide what the new suit will be. The first player to get rid of all their cards is the winner and the other players take away points based on the cards they have left. An eight is worth 20. Face cards are worth 10 and all others are worth face value (7 for a 7, 1 for and Ace).

Some play that when an ace is played play is reversed, if a Queen is played you miss ago and when a two is played the next player must either draw two cards or play another two cards. If several consecutive twos have been played the next player must either play another two or draw two cards for each two in the sequence.

Card size

The size of a standard playing card is 2.5 x 3.5 inches for poker cards and 2.25 x 3.5 inches for bridge cards.
